Welcome to Lakewood High School. I am extremely pleased to be the principal of this school. As the principal of LwHS, I’m looking forward for the opportunity to work with you and your child to provide an outstanding educational experience. We are fortunate that we have a strong teaching staff that are well experienced and yet are open to new and innovative ideas.

    Lakewood High Schools Academy of Marine Science and Environmental Technology.

    The AMSET program teaches students Marine Science through an ecosystem approach. It looks at how ecosystems work and the processes necessary to restore those environments that are impacted by humans.   In teaching our students how to maintain our natural resources, we are protecting our environment as well as our food and water supply.

      Lakewood High Journalists Win Gold Rating!

      The Lakewood High, 1400 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg, journalism program earned a prestigious gold medal designation from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) for their Lakewood Spartan News Network newspaper and website.

          The Bellair Garden Club will be offering assistance to those students pursuing a career in wildlife biology, or related fields. Applications are due april 1st.

          For all of you interested in studying in the Middle East,New York City or Barcelona,  the Columbia University Summer program will be offering pre college courses!

          Semester 2 is now open for 11th and 12th graders who are interested in attending the PTEC high school for Auto Service Technology , or Auto Body collision. The deadline for enrollment is February 1st. They will only be accepting students who are on track for graduation.

          Seniors...Senior dues in due into Ms. Brubaker immediately!  Tickets to Grad Bash will not be available to seniors who do not pay their dues.

          GSL...There was a mandatory meeting today in room A207 during lunch. If you missed this meeting, it is very important that you get today's information as soon as possible!

          Regions Riding Forward Essay Contest: Contest is open to all high school seniors. For details, visit regions.com/rdingfoward  Deadline is February 29, 2012.

          Belleair Garden Club: Offering financial assistance to students pursuing a career in Horticulture, Wildlife Biology, Forestry, Botany, Environmental Studies, or related fields. Applications are due April 1, 2012. See Ms. Johnson in guidance for an application.
